Lora Cretella, O.D., received her Doctor of Optometry from the University of Houston, graduating in 2019. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from North Carolina State University, completing her undergraduate studies in 2015. After earning her optometry degree, Dr. Cretella pursued a residency at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Spokane, Washington, where she gained invaluable experience in comprehensive eye care.
Originally from Wartburg, Tennessee, Dr. Cretella’s love for science and fascination with the complexities of the eye inspired her to become an optometrist. She enjoys working alongside a dedicated team, all focused on the shared goal of helping patients. For Dr. Cretella, the collaborative environment and the opportunity to make a difference in people’s lives are what she finds most rewarding about her profession.
Dr. Kevin Cross was born and raised in Byrdstown, Tennessee. He attended Tennessee Tech University, is a 1986 graduate of Southern College of Optometry, and is board-certified in therapeutic optometry. Dr. Cross was in practice with the University Eye Specialists for 30 years before joining The Eye Group family in 2018. Kevin and his wife, Stephanie, are blessed with three wonderful children, one grandson, and a shih-tzu named Samson. Dr. Cross serves as a Deacon at Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church and is a children’s leader in Bible Study Fellowship. He enjoys cheering on the Vols in all sports and is an avid golfer.
Dr. Harrison Amburn is a native of Farragut. He graduated from Farragut High School in 2010. From there, he attended the University of Tennessee where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology in 2014. Dr. Amburn continued his education at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. Upon graduation, Dr. Amburn joined The Eye Group in June 2018. In addition to comprehensive eye examinations for adults, Dr. Amburn sees pediatric patients and manages ocular diseases, such as glaucoma. Dr. Amburn is board-certified in therapeutic optometry.
Dorian Lain, O.D. received his Doctor of Optometry from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. He earned his undergraduate degree at Manatee Community College.
Dr. Lain and Dr. Manning founded the Farragut office together with only one employee in 1992 and have been grateful to see the practice expand and grow over the past several years. Dr. Lain is certified in Therapeutic injectables and specializes in dry eye.
Dr. Lain met his wife, Kym, in Knoxville at church, and when he is not treating patients, they enjoy spending time with their two beautiful daughters, Ryan and Kaleigh. Dr. Lain also enjoys spending time with family and engaging in outdoor activities like backpacking, mountain bike riding, snowboarding, paramotor flying, and boating/wake surfing.
Dr. Amy Combs joined The Eye Group in 2022. She was raised in Knoxville and was excited to return after being away for 19 years. Previously, Dr. Combs served as a Captain in the U.S. Army on active duty and also cared for patients in a private practice in Washington D.C. She is highly skilled in full-scope family optometry and has extensive experience treating ocular disease and conditions including Glaucoma, Dry Eye Disease and fitting difficult contact lenses including scleral lenses. Additionally, Dr. Combs has been a sub-investigator in FDA clinical trials for new devices and ocular treatments. She takes pride in providing her patients with compassionate and excellent care. When she isn’t seeing patients, she is likely enjoying the lake, hiking, biking, or gardening.
